Titanyen is home to approximately 13,000 residents, roughly half of those children. Titanyen’s northern edge is located about 500 yards from Mission of Hope’s main campus. Many people who lost their homes in the earthquake moved out to Titanyen. Titanyen is also situated just across the highway from Minoterie. Titanyen’s economy is centered around its marketplace, where citizens come down from the mountains and from Port-au-Prince to sell their produce and/or other products that they purchase on a wholesale basis. The market is open three days a week. Other than the marketplace, there are a handful of churches, schools, and small family boutiques where items can be sold on a small scale.
