Mission of Hope is working with New Story Charity and Elvis Dumervil to build a community of 250+ homes to serve the families of Bercy and Labodrie in Haiti, particularly those who have been living in tents since the 2010 earthquake and are at risk due to their living conditions.
The new homes are being constructed by Mission of Hope Haiti (MOH) in the village of Bercy for $6,500 each and include a small plot of land for farming. MOH has also established schools, medical care, and and other community services to help supplement and serve the residents of the community.
Dumervil is passionate about bringing attention to the many Haitians still living in tents since the earthquake and is hoping to enlist the help of fellow Haitian NFL players to ultimately build a 250+ home community. There are currently 50 NFL athletes of Haitian descent.equipped to purse the vision of life transformation for their country. Facilities include construction of 8 resident homes, one parent house, a common dining area, and perimeter walls with independent access.
We are intensely thankful for the partnership of New Story Charity who acts as a funding partner with Mission of Hope to help see displaced, at risk families served through the provision of a home. New Story and Mission of Hope have been working together now for over 2 years, and have seen thousands of lives impacted through the partnership. To date, we are working together to see an addition 500+ families served through the provision of a home.
We are humbled when passionate leaders such as Elvis who have a heart for the poor choose to leverage their position to serve others. We believe this is a powerful model of servant-leadership, and we are deeply thankful for Elvis' partnership with New Story and MOH to see over 250 families served in Bercy, Haiti.
